Renewing of Your Minds

The Kingfisher bird always looks stunning – arrayed in colour and beauty.
This beauty makes me think of purity and perfectness, and how we as children of God our Father, should train our minds to be like that of His Son, Jesus the Messiah’s way of thinking ….

1Co 2:14-16 (ERV) “People who do not have God’s Spirit do not accept the things that come from his Spirit. They think these things are foolish. They cannot understand them, because they can only be understood with the Spirit’s help.

We who have the Spirit are able to make judgments about all these things. But anyone without the Spirit is not able to make proper judgments about us.

As the Scriptures say, “Who can know what is on the Lord’s mind? Who is able to give him advice?” But we have been given Christ’s way of thinking.”
It is called the ‘RENEWED MIND’

.

THE RENEWED MIND (From a Richie Temple teaching)
Living with the mind of Jesus the Messiah is accomplished by the process of renewing our minds. This means that we consciously decide to change the way we think by replacing thoughts which are contrary to the Messiah’s character with those which are in accordance with it.

This renewed mind walk of learning to think and live as Jesus the Messiah did is a matter of becoming in practice what spiritually we already are in Jesus. He is in us already by way of the Spirit but we must, by our own free-will decision, choose to put on the mind of Jesus in our day to day lives – to think as he would think and live as he would live. This is the essence of being a disciple, or follower, of Jesus, our Lord. God’s Spirit will not take control of us and force us to live this way. Instead, the choice is always ours – to live as obedient children in a manner worthy of God’s love or to conform to the ways of the world …

1 Peter 1:13-16 (GW) Therefore, your minds must be clear and ready for action. Place your confidence completely in what God’s kindness will bring you when Jesus Christ appears again. Because you are children who obey God, don’t live the kind of lives you once lived. Once you lived to satisfy your desires because you didn’t know any better. But because the God who called you is holy you must be holy in every aspect of your life. Scripture says, “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Look at Romans 12:1-2 (ISV)
I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship.  Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.

God bless
